Real estate in East Oahu is considered to be homes for sale in the Eastern Honolulu, Waimanalo, Kailua, and Kaneohe areas. Away from the bustling areas of metro Honolulu, these neighborhoods are all extremely desirable among locals and out-of-state buyers alike. Comfortable climates and spectacular beaches help to drive strong demand in these areas with limited inventory especially in the neighborhoods near the ocean.
Kalanianiole Highway covers most of the south-eastern area of Oahu traveling from Hawaii Kai up through Waimanalo. Along the scenic highway are many points of interest. Koko Head crater, a volcanic tuff cone, and Hanauma Bay, the most popular snorkeling spot on the island, can be found in Hawaii Kai. Kalanianiole Highway becomes a two-lane road that wraps around the sea cliffs high above the ocean enabling beautiful views of the waters below. Soon you'll arrive at the Halona Blowhole lookout and Halona Beach Cove, also known as Eternity Beach. Makapuu Lookout is next overlooking popular Makapuu Beach and Sandy Beach, which are among the best beaches for body-surfing and body-boarding. Before the highway comes to an end, you'll pass Waimanalo Beach Park which was recently awarded as the top beach in the U.S. by Professor Stephen Leatherman, also known as "Dr. Beach". Kailua Beach Park and Lanikai Beach were also winners in previous years, both are located in East Oahu in Kailua.
